Written

//metaphoric rhyming poetry//

Written

his heart broke,
his life shattered,
bone splintered,
and blood splattered,

he stood in the center,
the center of justice,
but as they got revenge,
he was sentenced a price,

eyes clear as could be,
emotionless, or so he wanted,
but water still spilled,
tears still shed,

once a mistake,
always a mistake,
and life seemed hopeless,
as he stood to accept his fate,

for written on his broken heart,
was words from someone unearthly,
and written in his own blood,
was the redemption of many,

and stained on his hands,
was the blood of another,
and sticking out of him,
was the bones of his brother,

an affair of the heart,
a punishment unescapable,
the shot that rang around the world,
would never be stopable,

and there he be,
standing still and tall,
taking a deep breath,
and feeling oh so small,

he accepted the fate,
the one written on his heart,
the one that was engraved in his bones,
the one he could never part...

for written on his broken heart,
was words from someone unearthly,
and written in his own blood,
was the redemption of many.
